Ticket Exchange

Subscribers may mail, fax or email their ticket exchange request at any time throughout the season, provided that a written request accompanying the VOIDED out tickets are received no later than 48 hours prior to the date of the performance. If pre-paid parking was purchased with your tickets be sure to include the voided parking ticket. First exchange is processed free of charge. Any exchange thereafter is subject to a handling fee.

Non-subscribers have the option of presenting their tickets via US mail or in person, provided that a written request accompanying the VOIDED out tickets are received no later than 48 hours prior to the date of the performance. The non-subscription exchange fee is $10 per ticket.

Ticket exchanges are for Michigan Opera Theatre performances only. We cannot process exchanges or refunds for Broadway In Detroit performances such as Jesus Christ Superstar and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

We regret that we cannot accept exchanges by phone.

Groups
Groups ticket sales are temporarily suspended.

Refunds

All sales are final. We do not offer refunds or cancellations. Prior to the performance you may exchange your tickets or donate them to Michigan Opera Theatre and receive a donation tax-receipt.

Will Call

Will Call is located on the Broadway Street side and opens 90 minutes before the performance.

Seat Numbering

House-right seats are identified with even numbers: 102, 104, 106, etc. House-left seats are numbered odd: 101, 103, 105, etc. Main floor center section seats are numbered consecutively starting at 201: 201, 202, 203, etc. Mezzanine and balcony center sections seats run consecutively starting at 301: 301, 302, 303, etc.

Late Seating

Latecomers are seated during a pause in the program. Late seating policies are at the discretion of the production.

Accessible Seating

Accessible seating locations for patrons in wheelchairs and those visibly impaired are located in all prices ranges on the orchestra level and other designated locations. If you require special accommodations, ask about these locations when inquiring about tickets.

Children

Children are welcome. Babies in arms are not permitted. All guests are required to hold a ticket, regardless of age.

Ticket purchases are subject to the following additional fees:

  • Web: $15 per order convenience fee (MichiganOpera.org only)
  • Phone: $5 per ticket phone service fee
  • In Person: No fees!

Senior Rush*

  • MOT productions/presentations of opera & dance
  • On sale beginning 90 minutes before curtain
  • One ticket per senior ID (62 +)
  • Best available seating
  • $55 main floor or Trustee Circle, $45 Mezzanine

Request a Ticket Donation

We take pride in our support of our local nonprofit organizations and schools. Once per our fiscal year from July to May, nonprofit organizations and schools may be eligible to receive two (2) tickets to a Michigan Opera Theatre performance in order to benefit a fundraiser or auction. Starting July 1, 2019, request a donation by submitting the following form (opens in a new window) at least 60 days prior to the event.

Tickets Reimbursement - The Last Ship, Easter Jazz Spectacular

In person
For tickets purchased in person at the Detroit Opera House box office for Broadway in Detroit’s The Last Ship and Easter Jazz Spectacular, refunds will be processed when the building is allowed to re-open, per Governor Whitmer’s stay-at-home orders.
