Too Hot to Handel Reviews

Too Hot to Handel, November 2015

Eboni – Detroit

It was AWESOME! The orchestra, choir, singers and conductor were great. The different styles of music would reach all audiences of every age. This was my first time seeing Too Hot to Handle. I was supposed to take my dad but he had to help my brother with a task so my mom went instead and she loved it. Next year I will take both of my parents. I don’t want my dad to miss it again. And a shout out to the Detroit Opera House and the Michigan Opera. Excellent performance. I look forward to the show next year.

Gail – Belleville

We enjoyed the music, but thought the balance could be better to hear the choir and soloists. Excellent musicians. Electronic music could be overpowering at times.

Bob & Christine Wyatt – Clarkston

Excellent. Very well done. High energy throughout.  Puts you in the holiday spirit.

Gina Brazil  – Detroit

Too Hot 2 Handel is always the highlight of my year, it brightens my Christmas season!  I brought my entire family this year, and we enjoyed it immensely!!! I always look forward to it. I look forward to singing the Scriptures, and rocking to every song with the choir!!! Every year the arrangement is slightly different…this year, I enjoyed that old time rock n roll guitar player, he rocked the opera house! The soloists were slammin, Alvin was jam min’. The whole city of Detroit is now blessed because we worshipped the Lord with our classical, jazz, gospel and now rock. I reckon next year they’ll add country!! I enjoyed the conductor, she pulled it all together!! Even the light show was beautifully done! This was my 4th time coming! We will be back!

Margaret Weber – Detroit

Wonderful, wonderful! !  First time, but not the last!!

Sandra – Rochester

This is our third year attending.  The performance is consistently outstanding.  We are making this a new Cnristmas tradition.

Barb – Birmingham

From the moment we entered the beautiful Opera House we had smiles on our faces.   The staff is  so welcoming and helpful.   From the moment the concert started, our toes were tapping to the music and by the end we were standing up, clapping to the music, and dancing.  Very talented performers and musicians.   A ‘must see’ for everyone.

LT – Southfield

A sensational and spirited way to kick off the holiday! Pianist extraordinaire, Alvin Waddles is incomparable!

Richard Hutchinson – Beverly Hills

We enjoyed the performance a lot, it was very good.  On the other side of the coin, it was very stuffy and uncomfortable in the opera house.  I know we weren’t the only ones as I saw many fanning themselves with the program book.

G – Detroit

I want the CD. Though we are still having fall like whether this concert confirms that it’s Christmas in Detroit. What a tradition! What joy!

Mary Mazure – Rochester Hills

Such a great way to greet the holiday season. Something for everyone. An extra joy was watching the involvement of the young people around us.  Al soloists, and too many to count, were having as much fun as the audience.  Hope none fell asleep from exhaustion on the way home.  Mr. Waddles always puts the finishing touches on a splendid evening and leads into the entire house finale.  DO come and join the fun for the 15th anniversary next year.

Norma Mays – Canton Michigan

Excellent production.. Rodrick Dixon was awesome.
